To the Anonymous user who sent several questions, I find it best to answer all of them in one post.

So, to answer your questions, we call ourselves AskOtakuCat because Otaku Cat is and always has been the official mascot of KuroNekoCon. Otaku Cat is the public figure that has always headed our online presence. It’s only appropriate that its presence spreads to Tumblr as well.

As for your costume, we are a fairly family friendly convention, and we see many small children and their parents come through the convention space, so we try to base our rules on what’s fair for everyone. In our rules and guidelines, the minimum requirement “must be equivalent to that of at least a bikini swimsuit at all times during the convention.”

For the manga library, we’ve had manga swapping panels in the past, however these have been run by individuals who have had time and the motivation to put it together, whether staff or fans. As of this time, we are not aware of any plans to run such a panel, but we will certainly take your suggestion into consideration.

The 13-foot tall and 4.5 ton weighting humanoid robot on wheels with all its 30 hydraulic joints can be operated directly from the cockpit or remotely using a smartphone with a 3G connection.

To compensate for its 6 miles per hour, the robot is equipped with a Gatling gun shooting 100 ball bearings per second. Presently Kuratas are announced to be available in 16 colors, costing $1.28 million per robot, with an optional cup holder for just $90.

We are a convention based in Spokane, Washington. This year our event will be taking place at the Spokane Convention Center in Downtown Spokane on July 20th and 21st.
Of course, this year at our convention we’ll be having many awesome things happening including special guests Darrel Guilbeau and Chuck Huber. These two are voice actors who’ve had some fantastic voice acting work, and are definitely worth checking out. We also host events like a dance party, cosplay chess, masquerade, cosplay contest, gaming tournaments, a long list of panels, and a lot of really cool stuff.

We are all really excited about this new guest coming to our convention this year. He’s played a lot of amazing roles (check the link and tell us your favorite!). He was Shou Tucker in Fullmetal Alchemist. Android 17 from Dragon Ball Kai. Even Hiei from Yu Yu Hakusho!

Darrel Guilbeau will be a returning guest to KuroNekoCon and we are very excited to have him back. Since his last visit with us Darrel has been hard at work. Heard of the new anime, Nura: Rise of the Yokai Clan? He’s the main character, Rikuo Nura! Or perhaps you’ve seen the new popular hit, Blue Exorcist? He voices the seemingly calm and collected Amaimon. A past part you might recognize Darrel from is Durarara!! He played as Mikado Ryugamine.
